Energy Cities\u2019 community is composed by local leaders of thousands of cities in 30 European countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We believe that the energy transition is about more than renewable energy or great technologies: It is about a wise use of resources while strengthening local participation and well-being in a democratic Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for a Policy and Project manager who will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Contribute to the development and the implementation of <a href=\"https:\/\/energy-cities.eu\/publication\/agenda-for-a-transformative-decade\/\">Energy Cities\u2019 strategy<\/a> on fossil-free districts and buildings<\/li><li>Build capacity of local authorities and influence narratives at national and European levels to achieve our <a href=\"https:\/\/energy-cities.eu\/vision-mission\/\">mission<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be in charge of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Designing and coordinating annual grants focusing on Heating &amp; Cooling. More specifically, delivering campaigns on heat decarbonisation in cities, drafting a study on clean heat infrastructure together with partners, presenting the work to main stakeholders, supporting communication activities.<\/li><li>Managing and implementing Energy Cities\u2019 activities for the EU-funded <a href=\"https:\/\/musedhc.ambienteitalia.it\/\">Muse DHC<\/a> (set up of a Community of Practice, strategic guidelines on community led DHC, policy papers, organisation of EU and transnational workshops, webinars).<\/li><li>Monitoring and influencing EU and national policies, related to the decarbonisation of the built environment and the heating and cooling sector, by developing <a href=\"https:\/\/energy-cities.eu\/local-heating-and-cooling-plan\/\">policy analysis<\/a> and narratives, participating in advocacy activities with different stakeholders, and organising impactful events.<\/li><li>Facilitating the involvement of our members in Energy Cities\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/energy-cities.eu\/hub\/fossil-free-cities\/\">HUB on fossil-free cities<\/a><\/li><li>Develop project proposals to deliver on the Hub fossil-free cities priorities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In practice, you will organise and facilitate meetings, develop publications to share knowledge and projects\u2019 outcomes, write case studies, engage with several partners and members, and manage projects\u2019 activities (deliverables\u2019 production, quality assurance, risk, cost and schedule management, monitoring of impacts, partners and stakeholders\u2019 meetings, and reporting of activities to the European Commission and other funders).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could also actively participate on Energy Cities\u2019 <strong>fundraising activities<\/strong>, mainly by developing new partnerships and taking part in the preparation of project proposals under EU funding programmes (LIFE, Horizon Europe, INTERREG, among others) and other non-EU donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You will have the opportunity to participate in the <\/strong>development of the organisation<strong> <\/strong>and work on different topics to make Energy Cities a better place to work (e.g. development of organisational tools and process, greening and teleworking policies, etc.).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHO WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required qualifications and experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A master\u2019s degree in one of the following areas: engineering, economy, sustainable energy &amp; climate, sustainable urban development &amp; planning or similar.<\/li><li>At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.<\/li><li>Experience in urban sustainability, energy systems and EU programmes.<\/li><li>Interest in system change approaches (governance issues, transition management, stakeholders and citizen engagement, urban and energy planning, policies and financial instruments, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowledge of EU policies, challenges and solutions for the decarbonisation of the building sector, and local authorities\u2019 strategies will be positively evaluated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Excellent level of English (C level )<\/li><li>Independent user (B level) of other EU languages is considered a plus<\/li><li>Excellent organisational skills and capacity to work autonomously<\/li><li>Ability to take initiative and a proactive approach to improve what exists and address issues and barriers<\/li><li>Ability to engage and work with stakeholders<\/li><li>Good negotiating skills and capacity to present our priorities in a convincing manner<\/li><li>Ability to work in an international and intercultural team and environment<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT WE OFFER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Close-ended contract (CDD), full-time,<\/strong> under Belgian or French law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A salary aligned with the sector and depending on experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Attractive benefits including:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Belgium<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>20 days paid leave + 26.5 extra-legal days + additional days for sick children<\/li><li>Time-saving account<\/li><li>Group insurance (pension, hospitalisation, medical)<\/li><li>Transport reimbursement (CP 337)<\/li><li>Meal vouchers<\/li><li>Homeworking allowance<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>France<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>26.5 days paid leave + 20 RTT days (forfait jour) + additional days for sick children<\/li><li>Health insurance (90% employer-paid)<\/li><li>50% reimbursement of transport costs + sustainable mobility allowance<\/li><li>Meal vouchers (60% employer-subsidised)<\/li><li>Employee savings plan (PEE) based on organisation\u2019s results<\/li><li>Homeworking allowance<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A holacratic, collaborative work culture<\/strong> with genuine autonomy and room for initiative.
