Mais leur planification n\u2019est pas chose ais\u00e9e, en partie en raison du manque de donn\u00e9es et d\u2019outils appropri\u00e9s qui permettraient de soutenir les collectivit\u00e9s locales dans cet effort. Le projet Hotmaps financ\u00e9 par l\u2019UE dans le cadre du programme Horizon 2020 a tous les atouts pour relever ce d\u00e9fi et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer de mani\u00e8re spectaculaire la planification des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement urbains&nbsp;!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.energy-cities.eu\/local\/cache-vignettes\/L200xH200\/logotype-couleurs_200-97994.jpg?1538386862\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Le chauffage et le refroidissement jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la d\u00e9carbonisation \u00e0 long terme du syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique europ\u00e9en, ce secteur repr\u00e9sentant en effet 51&nbsp;% de la consommation finale d\u2019\u00e9nergie en Europe et pr\u00e8s de 27&nbsp;% des \u00e9missions de CO2. Vous avez sans doute d\u00e9j\u00e0 entendu parler des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement urbains, mais comment fonctionnent-ils exactement&nbsp;? Pour faire simple&nbsp;: gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une chaudi\u00e8re centrale de forte puissance, \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau enterr\u00e9 de canalisations calorifug\u00e9es et \u00e0 un \u00e9changeur de chaleur, chaque b\u00e2timent raccord\u00e9 au r\u00e9seau re\u00e7oit l\u2019eau chaude\/froide ou la vapeur dont il a besoin pour alimenter son propre r\u00e9seau de distribution (radiateurs, r\u00e9seau d\u2019eau, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Helsinki par exemple, la conversion \u00e0 une \u00e9nergie plus verte du r\u00e9seau de chauffage et de refroidissement urbain a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le central dans l\u2019engagement de la ville \u00e0 atteindre la neutralit\u00e9 climatique d\u2019ici 2035. La capitale finlandaise dispose de sa propre entreprise \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, Helen Oy, qui fournit \u00e9lectricit\u00e9, froid et chaleur \u00e0 ses clients.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.helen.fi\/en\/\">Helen Oy<\/a>souhaite convertir son outil de production, aliment\u00e9 actuellement en charbon et gaz naturel, en un outil compl\u00e8tement neutre du point de vue climatique d\u2019ici 2050. L\u2019entreprise a r\u00e9cemment annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019elle allait fermer sa centrale au charbon de Hanasaari et modifier ses nouvelles installations afin qu\u2019elles puissent recycler et stocker l\u2019\u00e9nergie et utiliser plus d\u2019\u00e9nergies renouvelables produites localement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le chauffage et le refroidissement urbains&nbsp;: beaucoup d\u2019avantages et quelques points \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le principal avantage des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement urbains est leur excellente efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique&nbsp;: une seule installation alimentant de multiples logements, moins de ressources sont n\u00e9cessaires pour produire la m\u00eame quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Ces r\u00e9seaux acceptent \u00e9galement des sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie qu\u2019une chaufferie standard ne pourrait utiliser, comme la g\u00e9othermie ou les copeaux de bois, et peut r\u00e9utiliser la chaleur produite par les b\u00e2timents industriels raccord\u00e9s au r\u00e9seau. Un autre avantage des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement urbains est que les consommateurs ne paient que pour la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie utilis\u00e9e, comme pour leur consommation de gaz ou d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Certains points doivent cependant \u00eatre pris en compte avant de d\u00e9cider d\u2019investir dans un tel r\u00e9seau&nbsp;: l\u2019investissement initial est consid\u00e9rable et les b\u00e2timents \u00e0 raccorder ne doivent pas \u00eatre trop \u00e9loign\u00e9s les uns des autres. Par ailleurs, les canalisations doivent \u00eatre parfaitement calorifug\u00e9es, afin de limiter les d\u00e9perditions d\u2019\u00e9nergie (et les pertes financi\u00e8res associ\u00e9es).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hotmaps d\u00e9voile un ensemble complet de donn\u00e9es ouvertes sur le chauffage et le refroidissement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planifier des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement urbains n\u2019est pas chose ais\u00e9e&nbsp;: de multiples connaissances et donn\u00e9es sont n\u00e9cessaires pour d\u00e9velopper des strat\u00e9gies \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale, r\u00e9gionale et nationale. Mais c\u2019est l\u00e0 que Hotmaps intervient&nbsp;! Ce projet europ\u00e9en financ\u00e9 dans le cadre du programme Horizon 2020 entend d\u00e9velopper un logiciel de planification des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement facile \u00e0 utiliser, fonctionnant sur le principe de l\u2019open source et utilisable par les villes des 28 Etats membres de l\u2019UE. Le projet a r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9voil\u00e9 un nouvel ensemble de donn\u00e9es ouvertes sur le chauffage et le refroidissement qui servira de base au logiciel. Cette base de donn\u00e9es couvre l\u2019ensemble des Etats membres de l\u2019UE, int\u00e8gre les diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9chelles spatiales, et a tous les atouts pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer de mani\u00e8re spectaculaire la planification des r\u00e9seaux de chauffage et de refroidissement&nbsp;!&nbsp;<br>Les donn\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 compil\u00e9es par un groupe d\u2019experts du centre de recherche italien EURAC, de l\u2019unit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9conomie de l\u2019\u00e9nergie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Technologie de Vienne et de l\u2019institut allemand Fraunhofer ISI. Ces donn\u00e9es sont regroup\u00e9es en quatre secteurs&nbsp;: r\u00e9sidentiel, services, industrie et transports.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotmaps-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/D2.3-Hotmaps_FINAL-VERSION_for-upload.pdf\"><strong>Une synth\u00e8se globale du processus de collecte des donn\u00e9es<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e en mars 2018 et les donn\u00e9es sont r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement mises \u00e0 jour par l\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet Hotmaps. Tous les ensembles de donn\u00e9es sont disponibles gratuitement et peuvent \u00eatre t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/hotmaps\"><strong>ici<\/strong><\/a>.
