Urban community of Grand Paris Seine Ouest

Eight cities make up the urban community of Grand Paris Seine Ouest (GPSO) – Boulogne-Billancourt, Chaville, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Marnes-la-Coquette, Meudon, Sèvres, Vanves and Ville d’Avray. Collectively, they have launched a climate plan covering 2019-2025 with a primary goal of making a local contribution to the country’s reduction in greenhouse gases and climate change.

Grand Paris Seine Ouest has had an overall climate strategy since 2011 and the results have been impressive. With 4,67 equivalent tonnes of CO2 per citizen per year, the average rate of emissions nationally is 2.35 times higher than it is in GPSO.

For 2030 targets are more ambitious still. A 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions relative to 1990, a 20% reduction in energy consumption relative to 2012 and an increase of 32% in the share of renewable energy in overall consumption.
