#EUSEW2020 – The role of local authorities in a fair energy transition, through retrofitting buildings

Organised in the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) taking place online from the 22nd to the 26th June around the theme “Beyond the crisis: clean energy for green recovery & growth”

The ambitious EU targets set up in the Green Deal present both a challenge an opportunity for local authorities. The building sector is amongst the most energy intensive in the European Union: refurbishing and retrofitting buildings is key in order to accelerate the sustainable energy transition. Furthermore, raising energy efficiency leads to improved access to sustainable and affordable energy for all. The Covenant cities of Glasgow, Wroclaw and Tartu will tell us about their retrofitting strategy, and how they are fostering an inclusive energy transition at local level.
