Tomislav Katanović

Tomislav Katanović is Mayor of Križevci.

Tomislav has a master’s degree in EU Development strategies from the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. He also has univ. spec. degree in Strategic entrepreneurship from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb and MBA degree from COTRUGLI Business School.

He began his career at food company Mlinar, where from 2001 to 2005 he held various positions, including payroll officer, wholesale officer, and retail manager. This experience provided him with a solid foundation in operational business management.

From 2005 to 2013, he worked at Križevci Entrepreneurial Center Ltd., first as an associate and later as the company’s director. During this period, he gained valuable experience in business management and collaboration with local entrepreneurs. From 2013 to 2017, he was Deputy Mayor of the City of Križevci, during which time Križevci earned the title of “EU Funds Champion.”

After completing his term as Deputy Mayor, he continued his career at Allianz Croatia, where he held several positions, the most significant being Director of the Market Management Department, which contributed to the advancement of his analytical and strategic skills. Following his tenure at Allianz, he joined Groupama Insurance as Director of Sales Support. In December 2024, he announced his candidacy for Mayor of the City of Križevci and officially became the new Mayor in June 2025.

Alongside his professional career, he has been actively involved in local politics for many years, serving as a member of the Križevci City Council and chairman of various committees in the fields of agriculture, economy, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and the city’s statutes, rules of procedure, and regulations.

He is the father of two children.
