Tanya Hristova

Mayor of Gabrovo

Tanya Hristova was born on 19 July 1971 in the town of Pleven. In 1995 she graduated with a Master’s degree in English Philology at the University of Veliko Tarnovo; she has also obtained a  Master’s degree in Finance at the same university.

Tanya Hristova has been the Mayor of Gabrovo since 2011 and is currently in her fourth term. She is leading the Bulgarian delegation of local authorities to the Committee of the Regions in Brussels, where she has been a member since 2012. Currently, she is also Chair of the Commission for Social Policy, Education, Employment, Research and Culture (SEDEC). Chair of the Governing Council of the Municipal Energy Efficiency Network “EcoEnergy” since 2015.
