The transposition of EU legislation into national frameworks is a key step in advancing the decarbonisation of the heating sector. For this purpose, Member States adopted national energy and climate plans (NCEPs) and are asked to report on their progress every two years.
This workshop will examine current guidelines and their implementation and will discuss how Member States can effectively implement regulatory requirements to support the expansion of renewable heating. Presentations will place particular emphasis on the role of sector coupling and its potential to facilitate the transposition of EU regulations by fostering a cross-sectoral approach to energy system transformation. Drawing on diverse European experiences, this workshop will highlight best practices and explore different pathways to accelerate implementation at the national level.
The workshop is designed for European energy agencies and their extended networks including national and local authorities, policymakers and advisers, heating network operators, municipalities, and other key stakeholders and experts in the European energy sector.
