ZZMO CITENERGO is a non-profit organisation of towns and municipalities working towards sustainable energy efficiency.
CITENERGO was created in 2008 thanks to the pan-European BISE project (Better Integration through Specific Exchanges for Sustainable Energy). Energy Cities, the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, the Energy Centre Bratislava and other partners have contributed to its creation.
Since 2012, it has been the main supporter and promoter of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Slovakia. CITENERGO developed, in cooperation with the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, a Covenant of Mayors National Platform.
CITENERGO provides advisory and informational services and coordination of municipal policy activities to its members. CITENERGO has already worked withover 50 partnersfrom the EU and associated countries.
The organisation supports towns and cities’ adaptation to climate change by fostering cooperation between a wide range of players, from local and national administrations to experts from public, business and scientific organisations that develop initiatives working towards carbon neutrality. The association aims to support the energy transition and build cities’ climate resilience.
