DEVELOP ATHENS SA (Αναπτυξιακή Αθήνας Α.Ε.) serves as the strategic development arm of the Municipality of Athens, spearheading projects and initiatives that enhance the city’s sustainability, resilience, and economic vitality.

As an Intermediate Managing Authority for the 2021-2027 period, DEVELOP ATHENS SA plays a crucial role in implementing the municipality’s Sustainable Urban Development Strategy “Athens 2030”. Our mission is to foster innovation, urban regeneration, climate resilience, and social inclusion, ensuring that Athens remains an attractive place to live, work, and invest.

Driving European Projects & Innovation

DEVELOP ATHENS SA has established a strong European presence through participation in EU-funded projects across diverse fields such as climate action, circular economy, public health, social integration, cultural and creative industries, urban security, and digital transformation. Our projects portfolio includes leading programs such as: Horizon Europe, EUI, EEA Grants, ISF, Digital Europe, and more.

DEVELOP ATHENS is also responsible for the operation of the Energy Poverty Office of Athens City. The Office is responsible to keep records of households energy consumption and support them to achieve efficiency. Households experiencing energy poverty are entitled to exemption from municipal taxes.
