Verona

Verona is one of the most romantic tourist destinations in Italy. Located in the northeast region of Veneto, it hosts a university campus and is a well-known industrial and business area. 

According to its Action Plan for Sustainable Energy and Climate, the Municipality aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030.

The main objectives of the SEAP are:

• Reduce energy consumption, promoting efficiency improvement and energy waste reduction
• Increase renewable energy use. In order to cut CO2 emissions it will be necessary to reduce energy consumption in public lighting
• Boost energy performances in buildings
• Promote sustainable mobility
• Extend district heating.

The administration will have to handle the following problems:

• Lack of financial resources
• Need for a data management system
• Necessity to involve and increase awareness of the stakeholders.
