SPARKLE

Sustainable Planning And Resilience Knowledge Learning Environment

The Local Transitions Learning Centre is the platform that will host the SPARKLE digital educational offer. Created by Energy Cities, this is a free open access on-line learning environment where different actors involved in the sustainability transitions can co-learn.

Start a new learning experience!

The SPARKLE digital capacity-building programme will be composed of:

  • A common track to provide LRAs with common knowledge on climate planning
  • 5 specialised tracks to enable LRAs to go further, exploring learning pillars on governance, fossil-free districts, community energy, sustainable food and resource-wise economies.

Additionally, the educational programme will feature:

  • 5 in-person thematic summer/winter schools, offering learners the opportunity to explore SPARKLE’s 5 pillars through two-day practical and inspirational events
  • free and open-access transition pathway modelling tool to support LRAs in their planning, engagement and decision-making
  • Mentoring and peer-to-peer support to put learning into practice.

The courses will be designed to meet different learning styles – visual, auditory, read/write, kinaesthetic, social, and solitary – using proven techniques to maximise engagement and long-term impact of all learning activities.

All resources will be available in SPARKLE’s six languages: English, French, Italian, Croatian, Lithuanian and Portuguese.

The learning platform and modelling tool will be sustained well beyond the funded period, providing vital resources to LRAs across Europe in implementing their clean energy transition.
