Carolina Mesa joined Energy Cities in November 2026 as a project manager, focusing on initiatives related to energy transition and adaptation
She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering and Geomatics from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. For the past 10 years, Carolina has been working at the intersection of urban planning, climate change, and climate finance, supporting cities in Latin America, Africa, and Central Asia to walk together with partners, cities, and communities on the journey towards sustainability.
Through her experience in different regions, she is convinced that we need to raise the voices of our communities and cities to rethink new ways of governance and economies, and we need to do it collectively and now—putting people's needs in balance with nature at the center of this approach.
In her free time, she loves hiking, dancing tango, reading, and practicing chikung.
