ALOEN, Energy Cities and their European partners are organising a day of inspiration and exchange of good practices “Role of European territories in the energy transition” on Thursday 20 April (09:00-18:00) at the Maison de la Bretagne in Paris.

This event, open to all, marks the end of the Interreg Europe POTEnT project started in 2019. POTEnT (Public Organisation Transform Energy Transition) innovatively addressed a key challenge for European cities and regions: how to achieve more carbon reduction by harnessing the potential of direct and local action by citizens and communities.

The following morning sessions will be of particular interest for the member of the Community Energy Hub:

Plenary – Political debate “Energy sovereignty, what’s that?”.The European Union has secured its gas supply by diversifying its “fossil diplomacy”. Does it make sense to have only national answers? What will happen next? How can we be better prepared? The policy session will explore different organisational models for investing locally in energy. National leaders will debate the EU’s future energy priorities.

Plenary session “Energy communities, examples of cooperation”, in the presence of :

  • Energy Cities (France)
  • Citizens’ Cooperative (Germany)
  • City of Pamplona (Spain)
  • City of Milton Keynes (United Kingdom).
