A new course to facilitate inclusive decision-making and equitable benefit-sharing in renewable energy projects

For local authorities, the energy transition presents a unique dual mandate: accelerating the deployment of critical infrastructure while safeguarding the social fabric of their communities.

Too often, promising projects face delays or rejection not because of a lack of public will, but because the mechanisms for inclusive decision-making and equitable benefit-sharing have not yet been fully established. Because these principles were jointly developed across sectors, they serve as a neutral, shared reference point—and a practical mediation tool—for local authorities navigating contexts where interests may initially diverge.

From Principles to Practice: A Hands-On Training Course
