The Green Cities Forum (GCF), the most important environmental core event in Romania, will be held in Brasov from September 4-10, 2023.
For one week, Brasov will become a green capital as the municipality, in partnership with The Covenant of Mayors & The Green Cities Accord, invites experts, representatives of local and national authorities, companies, NGOs, and citizens who choose action and accelerate the transition to greener, more sustainable cities to the Green Cities Forum.

Under the theme “Changing Perspectives. Embracing Transformation. Choosing Action. Together.“, this year’s edition puts the spotlight on the latest innovations and perspectives in sustainability, providing valuable networking opportunities and knowledge exchange. Participants will have the chance to interact with experts from various fields, such as sustainable urban planning, green mobility, renewable energy, circular economy, and many more.
I invite you to choose action as our main differentiating element and come together in the city at the foot of Tampa, Brasov, to outline project ideas, find solutions to our common problems, sit at the same table as city leaders, government officials, experts in public policies, and environmental experts, all united under a common mission: changing perspectives, embracing transformation, choosing action, and together, accelerating the transition to greener, more sustainable cities,” stated Mayor Allen Coliban.
Over 300 local representatives from cities across the country and Europe, over 20 experts in environmental public policies, private companies and CEOs, as well as locals from Brasov and tourists are expected to participate in networking sessions, expert-facilitated workshops, leadership and interest-based roundtable discussions, strategic facilitation, experience sharing, and presentations of best practice models.
The Green Cities Forum is supported by a number of European institutional partners, including The Covenant of Mayors & The Green Cities Accord, European Urban Initiative, Energy Cities – for Energy Managers.
