City of Montmélian

Montmélian is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.

Thanks to its common objective to set an example in the field of energy the small municipality has managed to reconcile political commitment with pragmatism. The municipality is about to achieve its goal and is now recognised as a reference in energy, especially solar energy. In addition to its solar image, Montmélian has also developed an ambitious policy together with a comprehensive action plan so as to deliver results in all its areas of responsibility. The municipality was awarded the eea® label in recognition of its efforts.
