Energy Cities in Romania – OER is a non-governmental organization bringing together 32 members (31 municipalities and a metropolitan area) in 2019 interested in increasing energy efficiency in urban public services ( heating, public lighting, water and gas supply, collection, storage and transport of household waste, etc. ) and the promotion of renewable energy sources and sustainable urban mobility.
” Cities Energy Romania ” Association was founded in 1995, through the PHARE Program, with the support of the European Energy-Cities Network , which has been a member since 1997. Since 2009, the OER Association is the ” Supporting Structure ” for the Romanian cities have joined the Mayors’ Convention .
The OER network is a useful tool in disseminating technical and commercial information on local energy equipment, technologies and policies.
