“Carbon City budget” or “Climate-proofed municipal budgets”?

“Carbon budget”, “Climate-proofed municipal budgets”, “science-based targets” are some of many different approaches offered to cities when they want to align their short, medium and long-term policies with the Paris Agreement.

These instruments, measuring and monitoring tools, can be complementary. They, in any case, need to be adapted to the local context and to the local available data. Science-based targets can support cities in defining their strategy by identifying and leveraging on their own strengths; on the most impactful actions.
