Anna Francis joined the Energy Cities team in 2021. She has over 20 years experience working in the sustainability sector where she has initiated and managed a range of projects on renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable buildings, food, transport and resources.
In the UK Anna pioneered a climate change programme to enable Frome, a town of 30 000 people, to become zero carbon by 2030. She co-founded a community energy co-operative and a range of award-winning projects including the UK’s first community fridge, first Library of Things and a community farm. In the past few years Anna has raised over €2m through community shares and grants and is passionate about the transition to a low carbon future where communities are at the heart.
Being European is very important to Anna and prompted her to move to France with her family in 2020. In her spare time enjoys a low carbon life-style, cycling, walking and exploring the beautiful Jura region. She has a BSc in International Management and French, an MSc in Environmental Science, Policy and Planning and a certificate in social enterprise.
