Since 2019, the TOMORROW project has supported 6 pilot cities – Valencia, Mouscron, Brest, Dublin, Brasov and Nis – in implementing innovative forms of governance, based on the concept of transition management, to facilitate and accelerate sustainable transitions through participatory processes of visioning, learning and experimenting. In the framework of the project, the cities developed 2050 transition roadmaps together with citizens and other local stakeholders.
TOMORROW’s final conference will give the floor to the project’s 6 pilot cities, for them to showcase what they have achieved over the course of the project and to present how they have involved citizens and stakeholders in their transition roadmap. The conference will give insights into the successful processes put into place in TOMORROW’s cities, dedicating special attention to the host, Valencia, in view of the European Green Capital Award ceremony happening in Grenoble the next day, for which Valencia is a finalist.
As a prelude to the Green Capital Award, Valencia will leverage TOMORROW’s Final Conference to showcase how the project has strengthened its transition through co-creation and engagement, while reinforcing political commitment and encouraging the city to advance its climate ambitions – helping Valencia become a Green Capital finalist, as well as one of the EU’s 100 mission cities, striving for climate neutrality by 2030.
Organised around small group discussions, the final conference will be the chance to engage with the different cities from the TOMORROW project, while interacting with Valencia’s local and national stakeholders, in a discussion which puts people at the centre of the transition towards a greener, cleaner and more sustainable tomorrow.
This event is hybrid. You can register to participate in person in Valencia or online. Register here.
