Energy Cities’ 2024 annual conference ‘Grafting Cities’

The annual conference of Energy Cities will be held in Valencia, on 26 and 27 June 2024.  

The 2024 edition of ‘Grafting Cities’ will put the spotlight on revealing cities. 

What is the 2024 edition of ‘Grafting Cities’ about? 

Energy Cities annual conference, ‘Grafting Cities’ is dedicated to our members and to European cities that want to accelerate their transition, through the art of grafting. 

The art of Grafting shows how a place can flourish by building on its assets and ‘twisting them’. Grafting a city is also a movement to transform street by street, house by house, place by place, increasing diversity and thus resilience. We aim to unveil remarkable initiatives that our members have undertaken to “graft” their cities, highlighting the transformative efforts of local communities to reshape urban landscapes. 

This year, the annual conference will take place over two days: 

• 26 June: thematic sessions 
• 27 June: Energy Cities General Assembly (for members only) and inspirational day. 

Details of the programme will be published in March.

We are delighted to be hosted by the city of Valencia. It has earned the European Green Capital 2024 title thanks to its constant commitment to a fair and inclusive green transition. 

A special week with many other conferences

Our conference will take place during a week in which other major events will be organised, such as the third Annual Conference of Mission Cities that will be organised on 25 June. The European Urban Resilience Forum will also take place at that time.

 At the end of these fruitful days, activities to discover the city will be organised on 28 June.
