Energy Cities Annual Forum 2025: secure your ticket and get ready for three inspiring days

Our annual forum will take place in Besançon on the 8^th, 9^th and 10^th April 2025 and registrations are open. The three-day programme offers network opportunities and side visits to learn about local initiatives and get inspired.

The forum will bring together municipalities, urban experts and organisations in the field of energy and sustainability to discuss common challenges and set the path to advance in the green transition.

A unique event

This year’s edition will be the platform for cities and municipalities to share their sustainability initiatives and projects and learn more about Besançon’s energy and climate actions.

The five thematic journeys taking place the second day will focus on renewables, local partnerships, co-investment models, circular economy and land use. They will be divided into two parts: an introduction of the topic and a site visit in the morning and a collective intelligence and a testimonial workshop in the afternoon:

• The first journey, Engagement for cooperation, will include a visit to the Grette Brulard area;
• the second journey, Innovative partnerships for a city “100% renewables”, will offer participants the chance to visit the Besançon’s wood-fired boiler;
• the third journey, Doing better with less, will dedicate the visit to the refurbished site of the old arsenal;
• the fourth journey, Eating well, eating local, will show the Graines de maraîchers nursery;
• the fifth journey, Adapting to climate change, will allow participants to discover the green transformation of Besançon’s place de la Révolution

During the evening we will celebrate 35 years of connections with all our members and participants of the forum. We will have a gala dinner at the beautiful Fine Arts Museum, expect an evening full of surprises!

The third day will offer networking opportunities during the matchmaking session and members and partners will be able to share their experiences and projects during the open mic. Participants will also learn about the diversity of opportunities our network offers its members during the inspiration fair.
