Building strategies in local and regional authorities recovery plans: a major governance challenge

Cities and regions are key players in the path towards climate-neutrality. Only local-based policies, particularly at the municipal level, can help the successful implementation of national energy and climate strategies, namely when it comes to building renovation strategies.

The first day of the EB Digital Days will focus on the role that cities and regions can play in achieving the targets set by the EU, or even more ambitious ones set by themselves. It will also address what is already being done at local and regional level to promote energy transition, and what can still be expected in the future.

Additionally, the debate will go further into how the role of local and regional authorities in the implementation of building renovation strategies will be affected by post-COVID-19 recovery plans.
