Since the concept of energy communities was initiated, hundreds of projects have been developed to support the creation of energy communities, but they have faced many difficulties. Political, social, cultural, and historical dynamics make the development of these communities unique for each European region, with some cases more challenging and complex than others. COMANAGE was born to support local administrations and regional governments in their wish to guide and stimulate the creation and sustainability of their future local energy communities.

Stay tuned as we’ll share the useful tools that will come out of the project:

  • follow-up and long-term roadmaps to facilitate the development of energy communities
  • a digital toolkit proposing a series of legal, administrative, financial, social, and organisational tool

COMANAGE counts with three pilot sites: (1) Metropolitan Area of Barcelona in Spain (AMB); (2) the Association of Krakow Metropolis in Poland (KMA); and (3) the National Association of Italian municipalities of Lazio in Italy (ANCI LAZIO).
