Beyond being a widely used concept especially in political communication, sufficiency also means concrete changes in behaviours and has recently become a key concept in the transition vocabulary. In an article published last June and co-written with Sarah Thiriot from the French Agency for Ecological Transition, Mathieu Saujot details 10 misconceptions on sufficiency and answers each of them with a social sciences’ outlook. From the restriction of liberties to legitimacy from decision-makers, the authors make the case against preconceived ideas that are holding back action towards more sufficiency. This second webinar will allow us to develop his paper and elaborate more on the role of local authorities in the sufficiency realm.
