Lyon is constantly evolving and becoming an innovative, sustainable and vibrant smart city. Lyon Confluence – the Smarter Together project demonstration area – is one of the largest urban redevelopment projects and the first WWF approved urban development in France. It has an ambitious target such as the zero carbon objectives: the annual greenhouse gases emissions at the end of the urban project must not be superior to the level of emission at the project start.

In addition, another objective is to provide to the Grand-Lyon data platform new sets of dynamic data from the energy and sustainable mobility sector collected from various sources: smart power and heat meters, building energy management system, energy production systems in the area such as photovoltaic systems and the district heating power plant. These new sets of data will be used to improve existing applications or develop new ones with the aim of providing global understanding of the energy flows of the district in order to enhance the urban planning process as well as the planning, design and operation of public infrastructure.
