The annual forum of Energy Cities will be held in Besançon, on the 8th, 9th and 10th April 2025.
The third edition of ‘Grafting Cities’ will highlight the power of weaving connections.

Weaving connections to advance in the green transition

The forum will be a new edition of the ‘Grating Cities’ series, which aims to unveil the remarkable actions our members have undertaken to “graft” their cities to accelerate their transition.

The art of Grafting shows how a place can flourish by building on its assets and ‘twisting them’. Grafting a city is also a movement to transform street by street, house by house, place by place, increasing diversity and thus resilience.

This year the forum will be held under the theme “Weaving connections”, which will highlight the importance of forging connections to foster collective efforts and build a learning community for municipalities to share knowledge, experiences and best practices.

It will take place over three days:

  • 8 April: official welcome and networking dinner
  • 9 April: thematic tours and gala dinner
  • 10 April: Energy Cities General Assembly (for members only) and best practices sharing workshop

Join us in Besançon!

This year’s host will be the city of Besançon, the place of birth of Energy Cities, which has been one of the pioneering local authorities in the field of energy transition in France. In 2016 it adopted its Climate Air Energy Strategy to achieve the objective of becoming a positive energy territory (TEPOS) by 2050.

Besançon will offer the perfect setting to celebrate 35 years of passion weaving connections among cities and municipalities to advance in the green transition and achieve climate neutrality.

We invite all our members and all the interested cities to join us in Besançon!

Stay tuned, details of the programme will be published soon!
