In 2019, the European Commission launched its flagship initiative, the European Green Deal, to make the EU the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 and transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy.
Five years later, and a few days before the EU elections, where do we stand?
The session will give participants the opportunity to get an overview of the publication “Cities in the European Green Deal – Opportunities and Responsibilities” developed by Energy Cities and Eurocities. We will dive into some key legislative files of the Green Deal and assess their impact at the local level. We will hear from a city and reflect on the next mandate and the challenges ahead.
