Since 2018, the BEACON project funded by EUKI has brought together schools and municipalities across seven European countries in a collaborative network to advance climate action on the local level. Join us on online on 16 and 17 June 2021 in shining a light on our collective achievements and further building upon this vast experience in our collaborative virtual conference on the future of local European climate action!

From changing the shape of local climate action to shaping the change-makers of tomorrow, this conference will enable you – schools and administrations alike – to make that next connection, create that next idea, and take that next step towards a greener tomorrow. Topics include: scaling up energy management; kickstarting and continuing a mobility transition; designing successful incentives for renovations of schools and municipal buildings; raising awareness for climate action in schools and among the wider public; the future landscape of EU-financing and more.

The focus at the heart of the final BEACON conference is advancing the work and success that schools and municipalities have initiated in the past three years.

You will get the chance to:

  • meet the BEACON community, representatives of BEACON municipalities and schools, practitioners and climate change experts from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe
  • learn about and discuss with peers and experts how ecological, social and economic innovations can support local climate action in times of green recovery and,
  • connect amongst and beyond the BEACON network for future collaborations and project development.

The programme and registration link will be published later on this page.
