Public policies are at the heart of the action for ecological transition. Their evaluation and the criteria chosen to determine their effectiveness and relevance are essential.

Even today, GDP is the key indicator for judging the success or failure of a decision. However, the measurement of wealth omits many criteria that are crucial. To go beyond GDP and integrate other dimensions (social, environmental). It is necessary to develop new indicators to guide public policies in the future.

With this next webinar, we plan on discussing these new opportunities and their challenges with our speakers.

We will welcome the 27th region, a laboratory of public transformation whose aim is to introduce more sustainability into future policies.

Sylvine Bois-Choussy and Jean Laudouar will present their “Nouvelles Mesures” programme that aims at creating a collective space for reflection and action to question the role of budgetary and accounting management tools. The aim is to identify how methods (such as green budget or carbon accounting) to transform public action, organisations, management dialogues, jobs, tools, inter-departmental relations and the relationship with other territorial partners.

Alongside the 27th region, we will have Thomas Delahais and Annabelle Berthaud who will both introduce IBEST, an innovative indicator from Grenoble. It focuses on social connection, non-monetary wealth and well-being as well as a significant territorial integration.
