On 21 January in Brussels, some 100 participants had an opportunity to meet and be inspired by cities that have set their public lighting, housing and district heating & cooling on a climate-neutral trajectory thanks to their cooperation with private investors, companies and financing institutions.
Without private expertise and finance, without citizens on board and without strong support from national and EU institutions, the implementation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans becomes a Herculean task. Face to this challenge, many cities are getting outside of their comfort zone, launching collaborative partnerships with the private sector and with motivated people willing to drive the change in their territories.
You did not have time to join this event? That’s a pity but do not worry, thanks to speakers’ presentations (see below) you can discover how cities are reducing their dependence on fossil fuels in the field of street lighting, housing and district heating & cooling thanks to innovative partnerships and projects. Benefit from short and practical training materials, case studies, hands-on methodologies and tools.
This event was organised by Smart EPC project (Horizon 2020), Covenant of Mayors – Europe and Smart Cities Marketplace.
