Help us shape the future of the Covenant of Mayors movement
Until 15 September, all local and regional governments across Europe are invited to influence the developments of the Covenant of Mayors through an online survey.
Community energy2020 stands out as a peculiar year for Europe. It is indeed a key moment, as the EU should evaluate whether we are on track to achieve the 20% GHG emission reduction target set for 2020 over a decade ago.
Today, the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting us all. Cities and regions are at the frontline of the fight against the virus, and need to rethink their economies, infrastructures and response systems while accelerating the transition towards clean energy and climate neutrality.
In this challenging context, the Covenant of Mayors – Europe needs to evolve to best support and empower local and regional authorities that are leading the way while planning their recovery.
The Covenant of Mayors – Europe Office, led by Energy Cities and Climate Alliance, developed a survey to collect the views of local and regional authorities on the future of the initiative, whether they are already involved in the Covenant of Mayors or not.
A series of interviews and/or a working group made of local and regional representatives will complement this survey to discuss practical proposals for the future of the initiative.
