Learn how to advance your city’s transition in your language!

The training “Planning the Energy and Climate Transition for Cities” is now available in Italian, French, Portuguese, Croatian, Lithuanian and Spanish


Are you an Italian, Croatian, French, Portuguese, Lithuanian or Spanish-speaking civil servant, planner, or technician tasked with supporting your city’s green transition?

Starting today, you can finally learn how to combine energy transition, climate resilience, and circular economy goals with actionable strategies in your language!

In addition to the English version, the free SPARKLE e-learning Planning the Energy and Climate Transition for Cities, is now available in these six new languages, thus making it easier for you to fully understand the topics, gain new knowledge and take the tests.

Planning the Energy and Climate Transition for Cities is composed of three courses:

  1. Integrated energy and climate transition planningLearn how to integrate energy, climate, and circularity into spatial planning for a more resilient and sustainable future.
  2. Data for a clean energy transitionCreate data-informed climate strategies by using energy and emissions data to set targets, guide decisions, and engage citizens.
  3. Transition Management: a process for co-creating transformative changeDiscover how to apply transition management to co-create inclusive, sustainability-oriented roadmaps.

All six linguistic versions will be available on the Local Transitions Learning Centre by mid-November.



From online learning to in-person schools

To further enrich your competencies and allow you to exchange experiences, challenges and solutions with other European peers, you can join one or more SPARKLE Schools, taking place from March to June 2026 in our pilot cities:

Don’t miss the opportunity to be selected for the fully funded scholarship programme. To be eligible, you need to: 

  1. Complete the SPARKLE free e-learning Integrated energy and climate transition planning course and at least one among Data for a clean energy transition and Transition management.
  2. Fill out the application form 
  3. Provide a Letter of Commitment demonstrating your municipality’s ambition to develop or improve a SECAP or similar plans and to participate in the chosen SPARKLE school
  4. Indicate 2 representatives (one technical and one political delegate) to join the selected school.
