Lyon Metropole is in constant evolution and is becoming a smart, innovative, sustainable and lively conurbation
The local authority wishes to conciliate economic dynamism and sustainable development: it means finding new technologic, urban, social and environmental solutions to improve quality of life in the city.
“Tubà” is a laboratory, a place where citizens, startups and companies meet in order to test new services, accompany project leaders and improve innovative services by encouraging the participation of citizens.
How does it work in practice?
Well, if you are allergic to pollen for instance, before leaving your home, you can check the pollen picks and find streets where the risk is lower with an App developed and tested in “Tubà”.
It makes your travel in the street easier!
All urban topics are tackled: mobility, healthcare, energy efficiency, culture, environment… Data is at the core of the system!
Supported by Lyon Metropole and the Rhône-Alpes Region (among other partners), “Tubà” has become a key player in Lyon’s digital ecosystem.
The laboratory also organises workshops for children, conferences on the issues of collected data, and a MOOC on smart cities has recently been launched.
At the beginning of March, the European project “Smarter Together” was launched and Lyon is one of the 3 leader cities together with Munich (Germany) and Vienna (Austria).
Energy Cities is a partner in this project.
Smarter Together aims at finding technologies favouring the energy transition with several priorities: supporting private owners for the eco-refurbishment of their houses, developing the production of renewables, a system of electric car-sharing and setting up a central pilot system for managing (green) energy at a district level.
In this project, Lyon Metropole will continue developing its neighbourhood “Confluence”.
