A massive refurbishment of European building stocks should burst out to transform our cities. This is the aim of the Green Deal and of its Renovation Wave. This process could also help to pull us out of the economic crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic.

Public funds are essential to sustain this change, but private finance is also necessary to credibly foster a radical transformation of the construction sector, of the real estate markets and of the energy service markets.

The objective of this meeting is to understand how demand can meet supply under public-private partnership models, when dealing with the building stock: what are the needs of public supported buildings’ owners on the eve of the next European post-Covid programming period 2021-2027? What are Regions preparing for their next operative programmes to arrange public funds? What are the opportunities that this new framework can open to the private sector? What can be done to streamline the provision of finance to the process?
