14 young people from 11 Mediterranean and African countries will present the solutions they have identified to solve the challenges related to water, recovery of food waste, alternative energy, enhancement of local products, environment, access to food and access to land, in their cities.
The proposals are the result of the collaboration between the FoodSHIFT2030 project and the “design thinking” laboratory developed as part of the international Master in “Open innovation and youth entrepreneurship”, organized by Ciheam Bari and the University of Bari.

The event intends to animate a discussion on Urban Food Policies in the Mediterranean and Africa, in order to understand the needs of future generations as actors in the food transition.

Outstanding speakers will debate on the topic: the Mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro, the Director of Ciheam Bari, Maurizio Raeli, Andrea Calori from the Italian Network for Local Food Policies and EStà, the international expert on food systems, Florence Egal, Marta Arosio, Community Manager of Energy Cities and Raoul Tiraboschi, National Vice President of Slow Food. Damiano Petruzzella, Ciheam Bari and Luigi Ranieri from the Metropolitan City of Bari will moderate the debate.
