The focus of the conference is not theoretical but rather practical – our speakers will present and discuss projects that are already in place in Croatian, Slovenian and European local communities. But we would also like to look ahead and discuss ideas of energy communities where citizens- and local self-government jointly share planning, construction, financing and ownership as set in the new EU Renewables Directive or RED II. As RED II highlights, energy policy cannot be successfully implemented without citizen´s support. We invite you to share your own examples and experiences with energy transition from your communities, cities and islands.
